At eight in the morning, before the round, some guests take a free yoga class on a jetty on Lake Garda, while others run on a treadmill looking out over the Adriatic. These are the golf hotels where the gym is genuinely part of the stay.
Golf is played in the morning, but the preparation, when there is any, happens before or after: a mobility session, half an hour on the treadmill, a yoga class. Not every golf hotel has a gym, and those that do mean very different things by it: round-the-clock opening, branded equipment, views over the sea or the lake, free classes. Opening hours should always be confirmed with the hotel.
Gyms open 24 hours a day
These are the most convenient for anyone who plays at dawn or comes back late.
- Villa d'Este (Cernobbio): a gym open 24 hours a day, next to eight tennis courts (six of them clay) and the Beauty Center. The reference course is the Montorfano golf club, about 14 km away.
- Hotel Pitrizza (Costa Smeralda): a gym open 24 hours a day, with a personal trainer on request, even in your room or villa; tennis and padel courts can be booked until late in the evening. Golf is at Pevero, with tee times bookable online.
- Il Picciolo Etna Golf Resort (Castiglione di Sicilia): for those who book on the hotel's website, spa entry is included and the gym stays open 24 hours a day. The golf club is on site.
- Posia Retreat & SPA (Melendugno, Apulia): a Technogym gym open 24 hours a day, in a hotel with a spa offering Ayurvedic treatments.
Gyms with a view
- Almar Jesolo: the gym faces the sea and the treadmills look out over the Adriatic, ten metres up. Guests also get free fitness classes, from Pilates to yoga, by reservation.
- Excelsior Palace Hotel (Rapallo): a Technogym gym overlooking the sea, inside a spa that is open all year round.
- Hotel Castel (Tirolo): a panoramic Technogym gym inside the Meran esse fine Spa. Mind the season: in 2025-26 the hotel was closed from 8 November to 15 April.
- Masseria Torre Coccaro (Fasano): the Technogym gym has glass walls onto the olive trees, in the spa carved out of caves; the one-to-one yoga and Pilates lessons are free.
Classes and outdoor workouts
- Grand Hotel Fasano (Gardone Riviera): three mornings a week, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday at 8 am, the historic jetty hosts free yoga and Pilates classes.
- Romazzino: there is an outdoor Technogym gym, beside a room for yoga and Pilates and the tennis and padel courts with coaches from LUX Tennis.
- Forte Village, Villa del Parco: inside the resort there is a park for yoga, meditation and Pilates.
- Argentario Golf & Wellness Resort: a Technogym gym in the 2,700 m² Espace Wellness Center, two jogging trails, tennis and padel courts. The golf course, the Argentario Golf Club, has a 2026 price list from 120 to 170 euros.
The special cases
- La Meridiana (Garlenda, Liguria) has no spa: it has a private 60 m² gym, reserved for one guest or one group at a time, and a massage room, with treatments from 80 euros for 50 minutes.
- Villa e Palazzo Aminta (Stresa) has a fitness room in the Grotta Camelia spa; among the spa's four programmes, Wood Aromas is designed, the hotel writes, for before and after physical activity.
- Masseria Torre Maizza: the Technogym gym and the beauty salon are in the Irene Forte Spa, in a restored olive mill, open every day from 10 am to 8 pm.

For those who train by swimming or playing other sports, some hotels declare specific facilities:

- Andreus Golf & Spa Resort: a 33.33-metre sports pool with automatic timing.
- Hohenwart: a 25-metre sports pool, heated all year round to 28 °C.

Training with the club: covered practice and simulators
Some hotels put golf practice under a roof. Terme di Saturnia has a 43-bay driving range, 34 uncovered and 9 covered, three of them heated in winter. The Golf Lodge in San Leonardo in Passiria has the Boom Boom Room, an indoor course with putting green, bunker and simulator, billed as "365 days of golf in South Tyrol". At Quellenhof Passeier the driving range has 20 bays, ten of them covered.

Hotels say that a gym exists, almost never how many machines or how many square metres it has. If you need a specific piece of equipment, ask before booking. For specific exercises or physical problems, consult a professional.
