How much a green fee costs in Italy

6 min read

For 18 holes you can pay 25 euros or 270, and the figure changes three times in the same year at the same course. The 2026 price lists of the clubs, set side by side: what to expect and where you really save.

In the 2026 price lists, a green fee for 18 holes runs from under 50 euros at some provincial courses to over 150 euros at the best-known clubs; many well-known clubs sit between 60 and 110 euros. The real price depends on four things: course, season, day of the week and membership card.

The price bands, with the numbers

From the best-known clubs to provincial courses, here is how 2026 prices for 18 holes are distributed.

Band Examples (2026 price list, 18 holes)
Over 150 euros Marco Simone: 195 euros in low season, 270 in high season; Pevero: from 120 to 180 euros; Argentario: from 120 to 170 euros
100-150 euros San Domenico Golf (Apulia): from 95 to 150; Royal Golf La Bagnaia: from 85 to 140; Circolo Golf Ugolino (Florence): 130
60-100 euros Golf Club Verona: from 70 to 110; Biella Le Betulle: from 75 to 130; Bogogno: from 90 to 135
Under 60 euros Fiuggi: 50 on weekdays and 70 at weekends and on public holidays; Boves: 50; Sanremo: 65 on weekdays

Two caveats. First: the prices in a list are often a range (low and high season, weekday and weekend), so what you read as “from X to Y” is the span of variation, not two alternative prices. Second: Italian clubs do not all publish a price list in the same way, and several do not publish their prices at all (Ca' della Nave, in Veneto, for example, refers you to the secretary's office).

Why the same course has three different prices

The season

This is the strongest variable. At Marco Simone the gap between low and high season is 75 euros (195 against 270). At Pevero prices run from 120 to 180 euros across four bands, with the peak from 20 July to 16 August. At Pra' delle Torri (Caorle), on the Veneto coast, the 2026 price list starts at 42 euros on low-season weekdays and rises to 90 from mid-May to mid-September.

Weekday or weekend

Almost everywhere the weekend costs more: Rapallo charges 60 euros on weekdays and 95 on weekends and holidays for FIG members (price list with no year), Biella Le Betulle 75 and 110 euros (2026), Fiuggi 50 and 70 euros (2026). Marco Simone is the exception: the price does not change between weekday and weekend.

The card: federation, foreign, none

Some clubs apply different rates depending on the card. At Rapallo, FIG members pay 60 and 95 euros, while holders of a foreign card pay 70 and 115. At Biella Le Betulle (2026), FIG members pay 75 euros on weekdays and 110 at weekends, other guests 90 and 130 plus VAT. At Golf Club Padova, those who play with promotional cards such as GolfAmore or Golfy pay the rates set for foreign visitors. So, if you are coming from abroad, always check the “foreign card” line.

The time of day and shorter formats

Many courses have an afternoon or sunset rate: at Marco Simone, in high season, after 2:30 pm the green fee is 180 euros instead of 270; at Passeier.Meran the “sunset” rate after 3 pm costs 64 euros instead of 106. For 9 holes the saving is far smaller than you might expect: from Pevero to Marco Simone, 9 holes cost from 80 to 135 euros, that is, between 50 and 70% of a full round.

What is not included

The green fee gives access to the course. Golf cart, club hire and practice range are almost always extra. Examples from the 2026 price lists: at Bogogno the golf cart costs 55 euros and the Callaway set 50; at Biella the cart is 60; at Argentario the golf cart is 55; at Pevero the buggy with GPS is 60, but the manual trolley is free. Budget for roughly 45-60 euros more if you do not want to carry your bag by hand.

How to really save

  • Ask for the hotel discount. Many hotels have agreed rates: the Royal Hotel Sanremo offers a package with two green fees, and at Circolo Golf degli Ulivi guests of partner hotels pay 55 euros on weekdays and 65 at weekends and holidays (instead of 65 and 80, 2026 price list). The Quellenhof Passeier offers 72 euros for 18 holes instead of the roughly 105 on the price list.
  • Play out of season. Low-season weeks are often half the price of August, as at Pra' delle Torri.
  • Look for the deals. Golf Club Verona has ten-round packages (560 euros on weekdays, 800 at weekends), and Montecatini offers ten 18-hole green fees for 500 euros (twenty for 900, 2026 price list).
  • Try a promotional day. At Sanremo the green fee drops to 50 euros every Thursday that is not a public holiday; at Pra' delle Torri there are a Senior Day, a Lady Day and a Sunset Green Fee.

When price is not enough: handicap and booking

Before paying, check the requirements: at Pevero you need a card from a recognised federation and a maximum handicap of 54, at Ca' degli Ulivi handicap 36 on the Championship course, at San Domenico Golf a maximum EGA handicap of 36. For every course where booking is compulsory, the tee time is requested from the secretary's office or online.
