Family golf hotels with kids clubs: ten addresses in Italy

Golfers who travel with their children have to reconcile three things: a decent course, a place where the children can enjoy themselves for hours, and a hotel that does not treat them as an exception. The three do not always come together. Here are ten hotels with a kids club or a children's programme, with the ages admitted, the season and the nearby course.

Verdura: the junior academy from age 6

The Verdura Resort has 203 rooms and twenty private villas. The Rocco Forte Kids programme is divided by age group, 0 to 3, 4 to 12 and 13 to 16; the Verdùland kids club, which is free, runs in high season, and a babysitter is available 24 hours a day, for a fee. Young golfers have the Junior Golf Academy, for ages 6 to 16.

One detail to know before booking. As of 3 October 2026, Kyle Phillips's East Links is open without restrictions, the West Shore is open but undergoing a transformation with Bermuda grass until spring 2027, and the nine-hole par-3 Executive course, the most suitable for a beginner, remains closed until that date. Anyone travelling with a child who is starting to play should therefore ask the resort, at the time of booking, how practice will be organised at Verdura Golf Club.

Apulia: three addresses, three ways of doing family

In Fasano the choice is between three very different properties. Borgo Egnazia is a village built in 2010 with 184 rooms; families with children under 12 stay in the Borgo or in the Le Case villas, because La Corte is adults only from 15 June to 15 September, at Easter, at Christmas and at New Year. The kids club also offers workshops with the papier-mâché masters of Putignano. San Domenico Golf, next door, is an 18-hole par 72 with the sea in view from every hole; in 2026 the pay-and-play rate runs from 95 euros in low season to 150 in August, and an EGA handicap of up to 36 is required.

Masseria Torre Maizza has on its estate a nine-hole executive course, par 27 and 1,150 metres long, surrounded by olive trees: it is short and serves for working on irons and the short game. The Rocco Forte Kids programme covers three age groups and the 120 m² Family Junior Suite has two bedrooms. The spa is reserved for guests aged 13 and over. Torre Coccaro promotes the same nine-hole course, 400 metres from the masseria, with pros who also give lessons to children; in summer it has an all-day mini club, a playground with water slides, a cooking school and a riding stable. According to the Michelin Guide, extra beds for children between 4 and 12 cost 110 euros a night.

Sardinia: Forte Village, Costa Smeralda and Puntaldia

The Villa del Parco, one of the eight hotels of Forte Village, has rooms that sleep two adults and two children. The resort has Mario's Village for children, a nursery, the U-Club for teenagers and a water park. The golf is at Is Molas: 27 holes, a par 72 opened in 1975 that has hosted four Italian Opens, and in summer a camp for young players; under-18s get reduced green fees. According to the resort, access to the golf is reserved for hotel guests.

On the Costa Smeralda, the Cala di Volpe has La Volpe Kids Club, open every day from 10 am to 6:30 pm in season, and a children's pool. The Romazzino welcomes children aged 3 to 12 at its Kids' Club, with multilingual staff and babysitting on request. Both send guests to play at Pevero, designed by Robert Trent Jones and opened in 1972, whose Golf Academy also runs courses for teenagers and children. Pevero sells Cala di Volpe guests the Unlimited Golf package: the 2025 terms excluded the period from 23 June to 14 September and required a maximum handicap of 54.

In San Teodoro the Due Lune offers children five activity trails: water sports, land sports, creativity, workshops and farm. The Golf Club Puntaldia, nine holes, is inside the resort and has the David Leadbetter Golf Academy. According to Small Luxury Hotels, the hotel is closed from November to April.

Argentario and Val Passiria: golf at home

The Argentario Golf & Wellness Resort has an indoor play area, an outdoor playground, a children's pool and, in high season, the Mini Club; the academy organises golf camps for young players. The course, which hosted the 82nd Italian Open in June 2025, has a 2026 green fee from 120 euros in low season to 170 between June and September.

The Quellenhof Passeier has a kids club and a junior club, a restaurant for children, the Acqua Family Parc, a 3D cinema and a climbing gym; the Family Spa welcomes children from age 6. The golf is on four holes of its own and at the Golf Club Passeier.Meran, five minutes away, where guests pay 72 euros for 18 holes instead of about 105. The three-hour trial course for beginners also exists in a family version.

Other family golf hotels worth knowing

The Grand Hotel Alassio has a Kids Club from June to September for children aged 4 and over, and the Garlenda course about ten minutes away by car. The Quellenhof Lazise has a pool with slides for children aged four and over. Here the children's programme is more limited. The Picciolo on Etna, on the other hand, has family rooms but no mini club.

Curiosities

• Papier-mâché on holiday. The kids club at Borgo Egnazia runs workshops with the papier-mâché masters of Putignano.
• A turtle called Olivia. Every Rocco Forte hotel has an animal for children: at Torre Maizza it is a plush sea turtle.
• Mini bathrobes. At Romazzino children are given bathrobes and slippers in their own size in the room.
• The green shaped like Africa. At Is Molas the 14th hole has a green almost surrounded by water, shaped like the African continent.
