A 30-minute Trackman lesson is part of Verdura's Golf Inclusive offer, while in Appiano the training centre sits within the walls of a castle. Nine places in Italy where a golf holiday can also become a stretch of work on your game.
A week of golf on holiday can be about playing a lot, or about playing better. The second route takes three things: a serious practice ground, a coach and a tool that measures what the eye cannot see. In many Italian clubs that tool is now called TrackMan, a radar that measures the full flight of the ball (launch angle, speed, spin), and alongside it come putting systems and fitting centres, where clubs are chosen to suit the individual player.
Sicily and Tuscany: the two resorts with performance centres
Verdura, in Sicily, has the most structured offer. The Performance Centre, which Rocco Forte presents as the only one in Italy approved by the European Tour, has two studios with Trackman, SAM PuttLab and club fitting; the academy has two PGA professionals and a junior programme for ages 6 to 16. Guests of the Verdura Resort on the Golf Inclusive Offer get two green fees per room per night, use of the practice ground and a 30-minute lesson with Trackman. Check the state of the courses: as of 3 October 2026 the Executive is closed and the West Shore has areas under works until spring 2027.
In Tuscany the Argentario Golf Club has the Argentario Golf Academy, with a TrackMan IIIe simulator, the Capto system for putting and an official fitting centre. The coaches named are Ricardo Kleinert Iversson, Paolo De Salvatore and Riccardo Marin, and there is a Golf Camp for children. Every booking at the Argentario Golf & Wellness Resort includes access to the practice ground.
The north: Bogogno, Royal Park, L'Albenza
The Bogogno Golf Resort, in Piedmont, has a Golf Academy running since 2001, with FlightScope and K-Vest analysis, a Callaway Fitting Centre and a practice ground with 25 grass tees, 12 on mats and 8 covered, with unlimited balls. The short-game area measures 900 square metres.
Royal Park I Roveri has hosted the Edoardo Molinari Golf Academy since 2019, with a driving range, short game area and putting green. The club does not publish its lesson price list.
Albenza, in the province of Bergamo, has a practice area with year-round grass turf, a pitching green with four pin positions and an academy that uses Trackman Pro and Sam Putt Lab. It is a 27-hole course, so training and play can be alternated.
South Tyrol: the centre in the castle
Schloss Freudenstein – The Training Center, in Appiano, is not an 18-hole course. It is a training centre with a 16-bay driving range, TrackMan, a laser aiming tool, an indoor simulator and four practice courses inside the castle's walls. Head pro Malcolm J. Harrison has been at the academy since 2009. The published price list (no year given) shows 84 euros for a 50-minute individual lesson and 420 euros for a six-hour clinic.
Islands and the South: Sardinia and eastern Sicily
Is Molas, in Pula, has a Golf Academy that works with TrackMan and video analysis, with individual lessons, clinics and a Golf Camp for young players; the practice ground costs 15 euros, or 25 with equipment. The Is Molas Resort is the reference hotel.
In San Teodoro, Puntaldia hosts the Leadbetter Golf Academy, founded by David Leadbetter, with TrackMan, Capto and Sport Box 3D. Head coach Giovanni Loffredo has, according to the club, a background that includes the Leadbetter Academy and the Titleist Performance Institute. The club's course has nine holes, with six par 3s. The hotel is the Due Lune.
On the slopes of Etna, Il Picciolo has a TrackMan simulator in the clubhouse and a school run by Giuseppe Marra, head pro since 2019 and founder of the Mediterranea Golf Academy; beginners are lent a full set of clubs. The resort is the Il Picciolo Etna Golf Resort & Spa.
