From Andreus to Carezza, by car, takes about 85 minutes according to the hotel; Lana needs only 25. In a valley with eight courses within 85 minutes' drive, the helicopter tempts anyone who wants to skip the road. Here is what can actually be booked.
The dream is simple: breakfast at the hotel, a round in the morning on one course, a flight, a second round in the afternoon on another. A "helicopter golf" package with tee times and linked flights, however, has to be built to measure. South Tyrol offers a concrete case: one valley, the Passeier Valley, with two hotels that talk about helicopters and a network of courses at known distances.
Two hotels, a landing pad and a booking service
In the Passeier Valley, Andreus declares a heliport; it is the same resort that stands directly on the 18-hole Passeier course, with the first tee beneath the windows. The hotel has 85 rooms and suites and, since summer 2025, a Sky wing with villas that have private pools, whirlpools and saunas.
In the same valley, the Quellenhof Passeier does not declare a heliport but mentions among its curiosities that guests can arrive by helicopter: the hotel books flights to and from Innsbruck, St. Moritz, Munich, Milan, Verona and Venice. The resort has four holes of its own, a 20-bay practice range and the Golf Club Passeier Meran five minutes away by car. What neither hotel publishes are prices, flight times or landing conditions: these must be requested directly.
The map of the courses: road distances
The distances below are those given by the hotel Andreus for guests setting off from the valley by car.
| Course | Driving time from Andreus (according to the hotel) |
|---|---|
| Passeier.Meran | below the hotel |
| Lana Gutshof Brandis | about 25 minutes |
| Eppan (The Blue Monster) | about 30 minutes |
| Dolomiti Golf, Sarnonico | about 50 minutes |
| San Vigilio, Siusi | about 50 minutes |
| Petersberg | about 50 minutes |
| Alta Badia | about 50 minutes |
| Carezza | about 85 minutes |
The picture is clear: at 25 or 30 minutes the road is a detail; at 85, as with Carezza, the day changes shape. If it rains, Andreus points to the Trackman simulator at the neighbouring Golf Lodge, free from 8 am to 10 pm. Flight times must be requested from the operator.
The courses: who they are and what they ask of guests
The Passeier.Meran is an 18-hole par 71 of 5,791 metres, designed by Wilfried Moroder; the club describes it as "target golf", and playing requires a federation card with handicap. Among the other courses in the network, Lana Gutshof Brandis and the Blue Monster in Eppan are the closest; further east are Dolomiti Golf, Alta Badia and Carezza. According to the hotel, guests receive special green fees on all South Tyrol courses.
What to ask before booking a helicopter
- Who flies and from where: does the hotel book flights with an operator or allow landings with its own helicopter? At the Quellenhof the first option is declared; at Andreus it is not specified.
- Where you land: a hotel's heliport is not a golf course's heliport. For landing pads and procedures, it is best to ask the club office.
- Tee times: courses are booked online or through the office; the helicopter gives you no priority.
- Luggage: weight limits for golf bags are something to ask the operator.
What remains of the dream
A flight from one course to another is, today, a made-to-measure service built with the concierge, not a product with a price and a timetable. The rest is concrete: a hotel with a heliport at the course, a second that books flights, eight clubs at known distances. The day's programme is written with whoever organises the trip, case by case.
