Facts checked on 18/10/2026

Golf was already being played on the plateau of the Alta Val di Non in the 1920s, on a nine-hole course at the foot of Monte Roen. Dolomiti Golf Club in Sarnonico took up that story again in 1991 and today has 18 holes and nine lakes, which the club counts among the most demanding in the Alpine arc.

The Dolomiti Golf Club course: 18 holes between Brenta and the Maddalene

The club was founded in 1991 with nine holes and reached 18 in September 2003, when the holes designed by the French architect Michel Niebdala with the collaboration of Luca Borzaga were added. The course measures 6,140 metres from the yellow tees and 5,461 from the reds, over 50 hectares, and is a par 73; alongside are four executive holes.

The club describes it as “one of the most demanding 18-hole courses in the entire Alpine arc”: wide fairways, shaped greens, deep bunkers and nine lakes. The two halves have different characters. The front nine wind through pine woods, with the Brenta Dolomites in the background; the back nine frame in turn the villages of the plateau, Cavareno, Sarnonico, Fondo and Seio, beneath the Maddalene range. According to the Trentino tourist board, the 12th looks towards Cavareno and the 15th towards the peaks of the Brenta.

Playing at Dolomiti Golf Club as a guest

The course is open from March to the end of November, from 8:30 am to 7:30 pm, and tee times are booked online. The 2026 price list sets 18 holes at 85 euros on low-season weekdays and at 95 euros on public holidays and in high season, from 18 May to 30 September; nine holes cost 58 euros, the executive holes 18. Guests of partner hotels get a 25% discount, members of affiliated clubs up to 20%.

The fleet of 25 golf carts can be rented at 33 euros for nine holes and 45 for eighteen; the electric trolley costs 12 or 20 euros, the manual one 5, the bag with clubs 33 euros.

The club: clubhouse, guest rooms and practice range

The clubhouse, dating from 2008, has seven rooms that serve as guest rooms on a B&B basis, and a restaurant open from Tuesday to Sunday, for lunch and dinner. The pro shop is also in the clubhouse.

The driving range is more than 200 metres long; there are also putting, pitching and chipping greens and Trackman technology, used in training and in the Academy lessons. The 2026 tournament calendar closes the season in October with the Tirol Cup (2 to 4) and the Dolomiti Golf Challenge (11).

Things to know about Dolomiti Golf Club

  • Habsburg golf. Already in the 1920s there was a nine-hole course on the slopes of Monte Roen: the club links it to the appreciation, in Habsburg times, for the gentle slopes of the plateau.
  • Nine lakes. There are nine stretches of water on the course, which the club describes as “transparent”.
  • One hole, one village. On the back nine each hole frames a different village: Cavareno, Sarnonico, Fondo, Seio.
  • The course before the course. The club's website has a virtual course for studying the holes before playing them.
