The course at Golf Club Paradiso del Garda: 18 holes by Jim Fazio

The course is the work of the American architect Jim Fazio and spreads over 800,000 square metres of land. The club describes it as a course of modern design, with five lakes, one of them natural, numerous bunkers and very large, undulating greens.

The choice of grass is technical: Agrostis stolonifera for tees, greens and fairways, with the Penn-A4 cultivar on the greens, which according to the club tolerates very low cutting even under heat and water stress and keeps them fast all year. The bunkers cover 8,000 square metres and are filled with white quartzite, a feature that gives the course a recognisable look.

Par and length are not published on the club's website, which instead offers a hole-by-hole virtual tour. The course, the club points out, quickly entered the most prestigious national golf circuits.

Above the club house of the Active Hotel Paradiso & Golf is the Il Pirlàr restaurant, with a panoramic terrace over the course. The resort also includes the Paradisetto sporting centre and a shuttle to the centre of Peschiera.

The driving range has covered bays. The pro, PGA Italia Head Professional and Flightscope MasterFitter, also teaches in English and German: a 30-minute lesson costs 30 euros, 60 minutes 60 euros; two-day clinics on the long game and the short game using the Pelz method are also scheduled.
