The courses at Chervò Golf San Vigilio: 27 championship holes and 9 executive

The design is by Kurt Rossknecht, and the course has 36 holes across four nine-hole courses that can be combined at will. The three championship nines are the Benaco (red course, par 36, up to 3,427 metres), the Solferino (yellow, par 36, up to 3,370 metres) and the San Martino (white, par 35, up to 2,910 metres). From the official scorecards: the Benaco has a course rating of 73.6 and a slope of 123 from the men's championship tees, the Solferino 72.8 and 128, the San Martino 70.6 and 126.

The fourth, the Pozzolengo, is a nine-hole executive course of par 3s (par 27, 1,025 metres from the men's tees) designed for the short game and for beginners. The Benaco has two par 5s, the 2nd and the 9th, both at least 475 metres from the championship tees; the San Martino opens with a par 5 of 490 metres.

Playing at Chervò Golf San Vigilio as a guest

The resort is open all year. Green fee rates can be consulted and booked on the club's portal, which does not display them in a readable form on the website: for this reason we do not list the amounts. For information, contact the golf office (+39 030 91801).

You can rent golf bags, electric and manual trolleys and golf carts; a mobile buvette service brings snacks and drinks directly onto the course, so play is not interrupted. Members get a 10 per cent discount on the green fees of the players they accompany. The website does not state a minimum handicap.

The club: abbey, clubhouse and major tournaments

The 110-hectare park was created around a 12th-century Benedictine abbey, the historic heart of the resort (the Lombardy tourist board dates it to 1104). The course dates, according to the same source, to 2008.

In 2020 it hosted the 77th Italian Open, in 2023 the European Nations Cup; the president Pietro Apicella received the Pallina d'Oro 2021 from the Italian Association of Golf Journalists. The resort also states that it has been recognised several times by the World Golf Awards as Italy's best golf resort and that its clubhouse has been named the best in the country.

The clubhouse has a two-storey lobby with a fireplace, the San Vigilio restaurant, a large pro shop, locker rooms and bag storage, plus a conference centre seating 300. The resort includes a 4-star hotel, apartments and a spa of more than 1,000 square metres; the Golf Academy offers courses for all levels.
