Golf Club Bogliaco

The course is, the club says, “essentially an English-style parkland” in a gently rolling small valley that runs parallel to Lake Garda, with panoramic glimpses of the water. It measures 5,235 metres from the men's tees and 4,625 from the women's, par 70: it is not long, but according to the club it is difficult, with plenty of out of bounds, small, well-defended greens and water hazards. The winds also count, from the north in the morning and in gusts from the south in the afternoon.

At the 5th, a dogleg left, a large lake protects the green; the 8th has a maritime pine 105 metres from the green. The 16th is a narrow uphill par 4 with out of bounds on both sides and a small pond 207 metres from the tee. The 17th, a downhill par 3, is the hole of the hole in one sponsored by Terme di Sirmione in all competitions; the round ends with a long par 4, with the lake on the left from the tee shot.

The course is open all year, with seasonal hours: from April to October every day from 7 am to 7 pm, in March from 8 am to 6.30 pm, in November from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm, from December to February Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm and at weekends and on public holidays from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm.

The winter price list, from 3 November 2025 to 23 March 2026, sets an 18-hole green fee at 53 euros on weekdays and 69 on public holidays; the summer one, from 23 March to 1 November 2026, rises to 76 euros on weekdays and 97 on public holidays. Under-18s pay half, under-14s even less (23 euros in summer on weekdays). To rent: golf cart 45 euros for 18 holes, electric trolley 15, bag at 20 or 30 euros.

Golf Bogliaco was founded in 1912 on the initiative of a hotelier, to meet the growing demand from English and German tourists on Lake Garda. After 1934 and the war years, golf returned in 1952; since June 2004 the course has had 18 holes and since May 2017 the club has belonged to Terme di Sirmione, which built a Lodge with 10 rooms on the course.

The Lodge is reserved for golfers and their families; the Condor mini-apartment overlooks the 16th and 17th holes. The restaurant, open to everyone every day from 12 noon to 9.30 pm, serves seasonal dishes from the lake and the hinterland. The driving range has a teaching hall with Flightscope X3 Fusion and K-Vest 3D, and the school has the professionals Luciano Tavernini and Cesare Turchi.

• From golf to wheat. In 1934 the course was turned into a wheat field.
• An airstrip, then a diamond. German troops used it as an airstrip, American troops to play baseball.
