Golf at QC Grand Hotel Villa Arzaga: Nicklaus II and Gary Player
The villa sits beside Arzaga Golf, run by a different company from the hotel: 27 holes spread over 144 hectares. The Jack Nicklaus II 18, a par 72, is American in style with wide fairways, and among its views the club singles out the one from the 18th tee. The Gary Player nine, par 36, follows the folds of the Valtenesi hills and guards its greens with round, sometimes crater-deep bunkers.
In high season (16 March to 8 November 2026) 18 holes cost €110 on weekdays and €130 at weekends; in the winter months that drops to €65 and €80. A buggy for 18 holes is €60, an electric trolley €25 and a premium-brand bag €55, and covered parking is included. Tee times are requested through an online form, with confirmation within 24 hours.
The club calls its practice ground the best-equipped driving range in Italy, and the Arzaga Golf Academy, run with the Italian Golf Academy, offers individual and group lessons for adults.

Villa Arzaga in Calvagese della Riviera: rooms and history
The hotel occupies a 15th-century Renaissance residence with marble staircases and old frescoes. According to the QC group, the rooms keep frescoes and exposed beams, while the bathrooms are designed to evoke a forest, with a sensory shower set to the sound of rain. Categories run from Classic and Romantic through Superior, with or without patio, to the Suite.
Pets are welcome: under the V.I.Ps (Very Important Pets) scheme, a mat and bowl are waiting in the room. For guests who want to train without leaving, FitWell offers short workout tutorials for the room or the garden.
The QC spa at Villa Arzaga: seven pools, two circuits
The spa is run by the QC Terme group. The circuit has two parts: 'La tenuta', drawing on the rituals of an old farm estate, and 'La riva', devoted to water, with pools inspired by local legends. Altogether there are 7 pools, 12 relaxation rooms and 17 experiences, including aromatic saunas, Vichy showers, steam rooms and hot tubs.
Lunch is one of two set Wellness Lunch menus; later comes the Aperiterme, a sparkling-wine aperitif taken in your bathrobe.
When to play Arzaga and how to plan it
The club splits the year in two: high season runs from 16 March to 8 November, and in the remaining months green fees are roughly 40% lower. Regulars can buy a carnet: ten weekday 18-hole rounds cost €880, twenty cost €1,550.
The club also sells Stay & Play breaks of 3, 5 or 7 nights with green fees and a spa entry, but they are based in the Borgo Drugolo apartments: to sleep in the villa itself, book the hotel and the golf separately.
Did you know? QC Grand Hotel Villa Arzaga
- A wall in play: Arzaga's local rules treat the wall behind the 7th green on the Gary Player course as an integral object, so a ball resting against it gets no free drop.
- And a bathroom: the same applies to the toilet block behind the 15th green on the Nicklaus course.
- Sirens: one long blast stops play; two short, repeated blasts resume it.
- Named rooms: the meeting rooms are called del Moretto, dei Giochi, delle Carrozze and dei Fiori; the largest covers 92 m².
