Arriving by helicopter: hotels with a heliport for golfers

6 min read

Behind the Quellenhof in Lazise there is a helicopter landing pad, and at Verdura the heliport sits inside the resort. Five luxury hotels say they can take a landing, and two offer indirect solutions: here is where, and what to ask.

For golfers short on time, the helicopter is a practical shortcut: you skip the traffic from the airport and step out ready to play, a few paces from your room. Very few hotels state this explicitly: here are the ones that do, each with its nearest golf course.

Seven golf hotels you can reach by helicopter

Five hotels state a heliport or a landing pad (Villa d'Este, Verdura, Argentario, Andreus, Quellenhof Lazise); two offer indirect solutions (Quellenhof Passeier and Terme di Saturnia). Who may land, under which procedures and on what terms are details to ask the property directly.

Hotel What it states Reference course
Villa d'Este, Cernobbio Private heliport Montorfano, 18 holes
Verdura Resort, Sciacca Heliport at the resort 45 holes at the resort
Argentario Golf & Wellness, Porto Ercole Resort heliport 18 holes at the resort
Andreus, Passeier Valley Landing pad next to the property Passeier.Meran below the hotel
Quellenhof Lazise Landing pad behind the hotel Paradiso del Garda, about 15 minutes
Quellenhof Passeier Flights bookable through the hotel Passeier.Meran, 5 minutes by car
Terme di Saturnia Landings at Grosseto airport Course at the resort

Villa d'Este: a private heliport and a jetty on the lake

The hotel in Cernobbio states a private heliport and a jetty for private boats, on request; the public landing stage is a five-minute walk away and parking is free for guests. The course is at Montorfano, about 14 kilometres away: the club is an 18-hole par 69 designed by Peter Gannon in 1926, open from March to December, every day except Tuesday. By car, according to the hotel, Malpensa is 60 km away (about 48 minutes), Linate 70 and Bergamo 100. The 2026 golf package is valid from 21 March to 21 November with a minimum of two nights and includes breakfast, one 18-hole green fee, a golf cart and club hire; the hotel books tee times through Guest Relations. The 151 rooms are split between the Cardinal's building and the Queen's pavilion, in a ten-hectare park.

Verdura: the heliport at the resort

At Sciacca the resort states an on-site heliport, and among its guest services airport transfers. The Golf Inclusive Offer covers two green fees per room per night on the Links or the Shore, the practice range and a 30-minute lesson with Trackman; there are 203 rooms, plus 20 private villas, and the Irene Forte Spa covers 4,000 m² with four thalassotherapy pools. By road, it is 80 minutes by car from Palermo and from Trapani, about three hours from Catania. The course has 45 holes by Kyle Phillips: as of 3 October 2026 the East Links is open, the West Shore is open with turf maintenance work under way and the nine-hole Executive is closed until spring 2027.

Argentario: a heliport next to the Italian Open course

The Argentario Golf & Wellness Resort has its own heliport, and beside it are the tennis and padel courts and two jogging trails. The 18-hole, par 71 course hosted the Italian Open in June 2025. By land, the resort gives 140 km from Rome Fiumicino, about an hour and a half by car, and still recommends arriving by car: the nearest station is Orbetello.

South Tyrol: Andreus, Quellenhof Passeier, Lazise

At the Andreus, in the Passeier Valley, a family-run resort with 85 rooms and suites and 8,000 m² of wellness, there is a helicopter landing pad next to the property. The hotel stands directly on the Passeier.Meran course, playable from March to December, and arranges a shuttle or private taxi from the airport or the station on request. The Quellenhof Passeier, also in the Passeier Valley, does not state a heliport either, but the hotel books helicopter flights to and from Innsbruck, St. Moritz, Munich, Milan, Verona and Venice; the Golf Club Passeier Meran is five minutes away by car.

On Lake Garda, behind the Quellenhof Lazise there is a helicopter landing pad. The hotel has an adults-only sky pool heated all year round and, from 25 October to 8 November 2026, the 7=6 Golf Getaway package with seven nights for the price of six and four green fees. Verona airport is about 20 minutes away by car, and the hotel has no course of its own: the nearest, Paradiso del Garda, is about 15 minutes away according to the hotel.

Terme di Saturnia: landing at Grosseto

Terme di Saturnia does not state a heliport of its own: on its location page it lists Grosseto airport for helicopter landings. The golf course is inside the resort, 18 holes, par 72, with a 37.5 °C spring a few steps away.

What to ask before you book

A heliport on a website is not a complete service. It is worth asking: is landing permitted for guests with their own helicopter, or only on flights booked by the hotel? Are there time slots or restrictions? Is the transfer from the landing point to the room included? How far is the course and who books the tee time? The hotels' websites do not give these answers: they must be asked before departure.
