One, by its own account, runs the home course; one is built on the fairway; one has a 4,500 square metre artificial lake instead of a pool. Five hotels admit adult guests only, but the minimum age ranges from 14 to 16: here is how to choose.
Five golf hotels reserved for adults: four in South Tyrol and one Apulian exception worth the detour. All declare an adults-only policy, and all have a course on site or an arrangement with one nearby.
A point many sites leave out: "adults only" does not mean 18. Three of these hotels admit guests from the age of 14, one from 16, and the Golf Lodge Andreus gives no precise minimum age. If you are travelling with a teenager, ask before booking.

Golf Lodge Andreus: the course beneath the windows
This is the most direct case: the Golf Lodge stands right on the 18-hole Passeier.Meran course, in the Val Passiria. The hotel is a five-star with just 35 rooms and suites, and it declares 4,000 m² of wellness space reserved for adults. According to the hotel, the course can be played from March to December; for the rest of the year there is the Boom Boom Room, an indoor course with a putting green, bunkers and a simulator.
The Golf Club Passeier.Meran is a par 71 of 5,791 metres, designed by Wilfried Moroder and extended from nine to 18 holes in 2004 by its founder Karl "Schaly" Pichler. The club calls it "target golf": ponds, water hazards and bunkers across roughly 60 hectares. The published price list (undated) shows 106 euros for 18 holes, with a sunset green fee from 64 euros after 3 pm; to play you need a federation card with a registered handicap or authorisation from the course. Lodge guests get a special green fee here and on the partner courses.
Quellenhof See Lodge: a lake instead of a pool
The See Lodge is the youngest house in the Quellenhof complex at San Martino in Passiria, opened in 2022 and reserved for guests aged 14 and over. Its signature is an artificial lake of 4,500 m², between 0.5 and 1.25 metres deep, which according to the hotel is the largest swimming pool in South Tyrol. There are no conventional rooms, only suites and villas, some with a private pool on the terrace.
For golf, guests use the resort's four holes and a practice range with 20 bays, ten of them covered, and get a green fee of 72 euros for 18 holes on courses in the area, against a standard price of about 105 according to the hotel. The reference course is the same Passiria.Merano, 18 holes. The professional is the Scot Gordon Hume, who uses the Scope video system to analyse the swing; beginners can try a three-hour course.
Parkhotel Marlena: the hotel that runs the club
The Marlena, a four-star superior on the hill at Marlengo, has a distinctive feature: according to the hotel, the Inderst family founded and runs the Golf Club Lana. The Golf Club Lana is a nine-hole par 35 of 2,887 metres, designed by Michael Pinner and opened on 29 August 1998 beneath the ruins of Brandis Castle. The 2026 price list asks 50 euros for 9 holes and 90 for 18; guests of the founding and partner hotels get a 20% discount.
For those who do not yet have a handicap, the hotel offers the "Handicap in 5 days" package: four days and ten hours of individual lessons at Lana, green fees and rental included, with a final exam for the handicap of the Italian Golf Federation. It also hosts an art collection, with works by Luis Stefan Stecher, Marcello Jori and Rudolf Stolz, and 1,000 m² of wellness.
Preidlhof: the 5,500 square metre spa
The Preidlhof at Naturno is the largest of the five in terms of spa: 5,500 m² with 8 saunas and 7 heated pools, and a six-storey sauna tower. From age 16, in every area and all year round. It has no course of its own: it is a partner hotel of Golf & Country Südtirol, with green fee discounts on four courses and a guaranteed tee time when you register at reception.
The nearest courses are Lana (nine holes, playable according to the hotel from February to December) and Passiria (from March to November). It is the choice for anyone who wants a holiday where the spa weighs as much as the golf.
Masseria San Domenico: the Apulian exception
At Savelletri di Fasano, the Masseria San Domenico grew out of a 15th-century watchtower of the Knights of Malta and welcomes guests aged 14 and over. With 40 rooms and suites, a thalassotherapy spa and a brackish-water pool among the rocks, the hotel is seasonal: the Michelin Guide lists it as closed from November to February.
The San Domenico Golf, under the same ownership, is an 18-hole par 72 of more than 6,300 metres designed by Andy Haggar, with views of the sea; it has hosted the Challenge Tour Grand Final. In 2026 the green fee ranges from 95 to 150 euros, depending on the season; hotel guests pay from 65 to 105 euros. An EGA handicap of 36 at most is required.
