Preidlhof Luxury DolceVita Resort – Adults Only

Preidlhof has no course of its own; it works with the clubs around it instead. As a Golf & Country Südtirol partner hotel, it gives guests reduced green fees on all four courses in the group and a guaranteed tee time, provided you register at reception.

The two nearest courses also set the calendar. Golfclub Lana is a flat nine-hole par 35 of 2,793 metres that, according to the hotel, is playable from February to December. Golfclub Passeier is an 18-hole par 71 of 5,791 metres, open from March to November. For practice, the hotel points to Freudenstein near Eppan, which it describes as South Tyrol's leading golf academy.

Pension Ladurner opened in 1966 with nine rooms. The original farmstead was pulled down in 1983 and the new Hotel Preidlhof followed a year later. It has grown in stages ever since, from the outdoor pool of 1998 to the Dolce Vita Lodge in 2017 and a rooftop spa in 2023; 2026 marks its sixtieth year.

The whole resort is reserved for adults aged 16 and over, all year round. It sits among vineyards and orchards below the Texel Group nature park, a ten-minute walk from Naturns and 30 minutes by car from Merano. Every room comes with a free underground parking space, and a free shuttle meets guests at Naturns station.

The spa covers 5,500 m², with 8 saunas, 7 heated pools and as many hot tubs, among them thermal, infinity and lap pools. The thermal water is drawn from 200 metres below ground at the Bad Kochenmoos spring. The sauna area and rooftop spa are textile-free, except where marked.

The centrepiece is the Sauna Tower, built in 2013: six floors holding 18 saunas, steam rooms and relaxation areas, open from 11am to 11pm, with a weekly sauna night of infusions until 10pm. The hotel won Best Hotel Spa in Europe at the European Health & Spa Awards in both 2023 and 2024.

Stays are on three-quarter board: breakfast until 11am, a light lunch with show cooking from 1pm to 4pm, and a gourmet dinner chosen from 17 dishes that change daily. The hotel says its kitchen holds three Gault&Millau toques, and the DolceVita Stube handles fine dining. Preidlhof also grows its own vines, keeps a wine shop and belongs to Vinum Hotels.
