Between the 13th hole and the 14th at Parco di Roma lies the settling tank of a Roman aqueduct, a large rectangular cistern cut into the tuff that once served the villas of the area. The course, 18 holes, par 72, designed by PB Dye and opened in 1999, lies within the Veio Regional Park, north of the capital.

The Parco di Roma Golf Club course: 18 holes by PB Dye in Veio Park
The course, opened in 1999, is an 18-hole, par 72 championship layout designed by PB Dye to make use of the natural undulations of Veio Park. Adding up the holes from the longest tees gives 6,440 metres. The club speaks of technical fairways and large greens that demand concentration and strategy, and of a 360-degree view taking in the dome of St Peter's and the remains of ancient Rome.
The holes to remember. The 3rd, a 425-metre par 4, is for the club "the most spectacular": the second shot goes over a canyon to a raised, very narrow green. The 4th is the longest par 5 (543 metres), with an enormous 50-metre green on three levels. The 7th is a 203-metre downhill par 3 with four bunkers. At the 9th the long, narrow green is guarded by seven bunkers. The 14th is "the most beautiful par 3": a raised green with a drop on the right. Finally, the 17th is a par 4 with a lake on the right and two large bunkers, stroke index 1; the 18th is a par 5 with out of bounds on the left and a lake on the right, reachable in two shots with a big drive.

The club: academy, Major Cup and archaeology
The Golf Academy, founded in 1999, has the largest junior group in Lazio. Among its titles the club recalls the Campionato Nazionale Ragazzi - Trofeo Pallavicino (2003, 2008, 2009 and 2012), the national men's team championship (2010, 2012, 2014 and 2021) and the Under 14 championship (2013, 2017 and 2024). The practice range, open all year, has more than 50 bays on several levels, two putting greens, two pitching areas (approaches up to 50 metres) and a grass putting course.
The calendar revolves around the Major Cup: in 2026 it consists of 14 qualifying events and four majors (Masters, PGA Championship, US Open and Open Championship), in Stableford format; the winner gets a Major membership for 2027. The restaurant, The Club, is in the clubhouse.
The course shares its ground with archaeology: the area, between Via Flaminia and Via dei Due Ponti, was home to Roman villas from the late Republican period. Next to the course stands the Torre Molinario, a piezometric tower from the early twentieth century, about 30 metres tall, built of tuff bricks.
Curiosities about Parco di Roma Golf Club
- A Roman aqueduct on the course. The settling tank between the 13th and 14th holes slowed the water in an underground stretch, by means of galleries cut into the tuff.
- St Peter's from the 14th. The dome can be seen from the 14th green and the 15th tee.
- A water tower as a lighthouse. The Torre Molinario, about 30 metres tall, is a landmark for players.
- A lake for herons. The lake on the 17th and 18th holes is home to mallards, herons and little egrets.
- A Major Cup run on points. Each Stableford point is worth one "coin", with bonuses in the four majors.
