The Golf San Vito course: nine holes, par 32, on the edge of Milan
The course lies in the Milanese countryside, on part of a farm adjoining the Naviglio Grande that a deed of 13 October 1813 described in careful detail. The club was founded in 2001 by the Calvi family, at first only as a practice range; with works that began in 2011 it gained its nine holes, approved by the Federation in 2014. In 2016 work began on two new holes which, from September 2017, took the course from par 30 to par 32.
The holes have names that capture the character of the round: it starts with The Lake, a par 3, and passes through Three Spots, The Ditch, Ernie’s Trap and The Monster, a par 4. Further on come Bridge & Tree, Hierba de la Pampas and, to finish, two par 3s named after two trees, Carpinus Betulus and Populus Nigra. The club describes it as a fun layout suited to every level, from beginner to professional.
