At the 12th, the second shot has to deal with a centuries-old oak planted in the middle of the fairway, which the club says has “grown over time alongside the longtime members”. Vigevano Golf Club plays its first twelve holes in the woods of the Ticino Park, among mature trees and spring-fed ponds.

The Vigevano Golf Club course: Ticino woodland and American-style holes
The course has two souls. The first 12 holes run through the woods of the Ticino Park, among centuries-old trees and spring-fed ponds; the last 6, in the club's words, are “more American-looking” and skilfully shaped. The terrain is flat, but the layout creates changes of level with raised tees and uphill greens, and water keeps returning in the form of lakes, channels and ditches.
The 5th is a par 4 of almost 400 metres with a lake on the right; the 8th, a par 5, is the longest hole and is hard to reach in two. The 11th, second in difficulty, is a dogleg right with a raised green. Then comes the 12th, the par 5 of the oak. The international instructor William Rosen, quoted by the club, described it as “the faithful representation of a course built with the utmost respect for the environment”.
