In 2011 the Golf Club La Margherita team won the Italian men's Serie A1 Championship: a national title for a club founded only twenty-four years earlier in the countryside of Poirino, between Turin and Roero. The course that raised it is a par 72 with small, fast greens, designed by Marco Croze and Giorgio Ferraris.

The Golf Club La Margherita course: 18 holes of water and bunkers
The layout is an 18-hole par 72 of more than 6 kilometres and, as the club describes it, it has a rather “rolling” character. The fairways are wide, but water runs alongside them throughout the round; the real defence of the course is its greens, though: small, fast and undulating, guarded by bunkers and water hazards.
The front nine bear the signature of Marco Croze, the architect who, the club recalls, also designed the courses at Albarella and Riva dei Tessali. Working beside him was the Turin-born Giorgio Ferraris, who played a larger part in the back nine and also designed the clubhouse.
The greens are planted with pure Agrostis, a choice that, according to the club, ensures an even roll throughout the season. Ordinary green speed on the Stimpmeter is around 2.60 metres, about 9 feet; in the most important tournaments it reaches 3.30 metres, about 11 feet. Those who want to study the course before playing it will find on the website the hole maps, the green map and the pin positions.
Playing La Margherita as a guest: green fees and hours
The course is open to guests with green fees. The 2026 high-season price list, valid until 31 October, charges for 18 holes 65 euros on weekdays and 85 on weekends and holidays for members of the Italian Golf Federation; for foreign federation members the figures rise to 80 and 100 euros. Nine holes cost 35 euros during the week and 45 on weekends and holidays.
The course is closed on Tuesdays that are not public holidays; the office answers from 8:30 am to 6:30 pm and the club advises phoning about any schedule changes due to the weather. The golf cart costs guests 50 euros for 18 holes and 30 for nine; the club also offers bag storage and rental with equipment.
The driving range has 20 outdoor bays and 5 covered ones: entry costs 10 euros on weekdays and 12 on weekends and holidays, and a token for 32 balls costs 2 euros.
The club: Lo Swing, the pool and the academy
The clubhouse, designed by Ferraris, has housed Lo Swing, the new bar, restaurant and pizzeria, since 2026. The cooking of chef Daniele Eusebio, who comes from the experience of the Turin team OINOS, works with local, zero-mile produce, and the pizza menu is entrusted to a Neapolitan pizzaiolo. The venue is open to non-players too and in summer moves out to the terrace and under the porticoes.
From June to September, from 10 am to 6:30 pm, the pool opens, with a grass solarium and a playground for children. Teaching is handled by the club's PGAI professionals and by the LF Golf Vision academy, which works with Trackman and swing video analysis.
