The course at Rimini Verucchio Golf Club: 18 holes in the Valmarecchia

The course stretches out beside the Marecchia river, in the valley that gives the area its name, between hills and medieval villages: from the fairways you can pick out Verucchio, Torriana and San Leo. The design is by Brian M. Silva, an American architect, and the club gives 1995 as its founding year. The main course has 18 holes, par 72; alongside it sits a 7-hole executive course, useful for practice and for first outings on grass.

The club publishes a Course Rating table with six tees. For men, the white tees show CR 72.0 and slope 131, the yellow CR 70.0 and slope 127, the green CR 66.9 and slope 120. For women, the blue tees have CR 73.9 and slope 130 and the red CR 72.1 and slope 127. The club's website does not give the length in metres, so we do not quote it here.

The scenery is part of the game: from the course you can see San Marino and Monte Carpegna, and from the 17th and 18th holes the three towers on Monte Titano come into view. The sea and Rimini international airport are, according to the club, a few kilometres away.

The 2026 price list sets the 18-hole green fee at €57 on weekdays and €63 on weekends and public holidays; 9 holes cost €31 and €36, the executive course €20 and €25. Juniors pay €30 and €35 (€25 and €30 with the affiliated rate). Those who play often can opt for the 10 green fee packages: €450 for 18 holes, €280 for 9.

Among the rental services, the golf cart costs €30 on weekdays and €40 on weekends and public holidays for 18 holes (€22 and €30 for 9), the pull trolley €5 and the electric one €15. The 26-ball token for the practice range costs €2; the all-day range pass €10, the afternoon one €7. Entry to a one-day competition costs €20, to a two-day one €35.

The secretary's office is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm and at weekends from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm. The website gives neither the handicap required nor a closing day: it is wise to call 0541 678122 or write to [email protected] before booking. Dogs are allowed on the course.

The club: academy, clubhouse and affiliated hotels

The clubhouse has changing rooms, a pro shop and a bar with a terrace; the Bar del Golf is described by the club as a bar and snack counter, also suitable for non-golfers. The academy is based around a driving range more than 200 metres wide with 50 bays, 25 of them covered, directional greens, a short-game area and a putting green.

Teaching is led by Enrico Bianoni, a pro certified by the Italian Golf Federation, who offers individual lessons, group lessons and a junior club. To get started, the school says, all you need is comfortable clothing: long trousers, a polo shirt and trainers.

The club lists ten affiliated properties: in Rimini the Hotel Baia Imperiale, the TAG Hotel, the Le Rose Suite Hotel, the Oxygen Lifestyle Hotel and the Grand Hotel Rimini, but also the Grand Hotel Terme della Fratta in Bertinoro, the Relais Villa Margherita in Longiano, the Marepineta Resort and the Hotel Aurelia in Milano Marittima, and the Sportur Club Hotel in Cervia. The competition calendar can be consulted on the Gesgolf portal.
