In 1962 a group of Premeno holidaymakers refused to give up golf on their vacations, and a par-3 course was laid out over gentle slopes at 1,000 metres, with views of Lake Maggiore. Today Golf Piandisole is a par-68 nine-hole course with double tees, at the gateway to the Val Grande National Park.

The Golf Piandisole course: nine holes above Lake Maggiore
The course lies on gentle slopes in the hamlet of Piandisole, in Premeno, at about 1,000 metres above sea level. Glimpses of Lake Maggiore, the Alps and the Monte Rosa massif open up between the holes. The original design is by the British architect J.D. Harris: it began as a par-3 course, and a few years later became the current par-68 layout with double tees, so a round of 18 is played over nine holes.
The club describes it as a fun course suited to every level, with hazards, bunkers, water, changes of elevation and trees. Two holes are singled out as technical tests: the 6th, an uphill par 3, and the 9th, the hardest, a 372-metre par 4 with a dog-leg. The club's website shows the hole-by-hole guide only as images, so we do not report any further data on it.
Playing Golf Piandisole as a guest
The season runs from 1 April to 31 October. The website's home page says the course is open Tuesday to Sunday, 9 am to 5 pm, closed on Mondays; the contact page, however, specifies the Monday closure only for April and May, so it is best to phone (+39 338 434 4725) before setting out.
In 2026 the green fee for 18 holes is 35 euros on weekdays and 40 euros at weekends and on holidays, the latter counting Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays and all of August; for 9 holes the price is 25 and 30 euros, and for under-18s 15 and 10 euros. The practice range is free. You can rent golf buggies (35 euros for 18 holes, 20 for nine), electric trolleys (15 euros), pull trolleys (5 euros) and full sets of clubs (15 euros). The website gives no minimum handicap.
The club: from par-3 course to nine-hole par 68
The Parco Golf Piandisole was born in the summer of 1962 at the initiative of a group of friends, golf enthusiasts and holidaymakers who wanted to play during the summer holidays. The idea became a course designed by J.D. Harris; the clubhouse was completed in the second half of the 1960s.
The calendar is full of competitions throughout the season. On site is the restaurant La Genzianella (0323 587031), open also to those who simply come to see the course; the price list also offers packages of 4 or 10 green fees.
