At Le Fonti the 15th green has three levels and a lake in front of it: a short, uphill, narrow hole that punishes anyone who attacks too boldly. The club at Castel San Pietro Terme, in the Sillaro valley above the Po plain, was founded in 1999 by 24 founding members.

The course at Le Fonti Golf Club: 18 holes in the Sillaro valley
Le Fonti stretches across the valley of the River Sillaro, looking out over the Po plain. The layout is an 18-hole par 72 with four par 3s (holes 2, 9, 12, 17), ten par 4s and four par 5s (4, 7, 10, 14). In 2014 it was entirely reseeded with Bermuda Patriot, to keep it playable all year round.
There are plenty of holes worth remembering. The 4th is a 550-metre par 5 with out of bounds on the left along its whole length and water near the tee: the club advises against taking risks. The 3rd is a long, difficult par 4, with a steeply sloping green and a large tree at the entrance. The 12th is a par 3 played entirely over water, with a 165-metre carry. The 15th is a short, uphill, narrow par 4 with a green on three levels guarded by a lake. The 18th closes with a delicate approach: water on the right from 150 metres and out of bounds on the left.
Playing at Le Fonti as a guest
The club's website publishes no green fee list and states neither a required handicap nor a closing day: to confirm rates and availability, it is best to call the secretary's office on +39 051 695 1958. Tee times are booked online through the booking portal linked to the website. Golf cars can be rented and bags stored, and there is a partly covered driving range with chipping areas and a putting green.
