The course of the Golf Club della Pineta di Arenzano was built in 1959 by the Cemadis company, the same firm that developed the Pineta residential district, and entrusted to the Englishman Don Harradine, a specialist in very small sites. The result is a flat 9-hole, par 36 course between the sea and the Ligurian Apennines.

The Golf Club Pineta di Arenzano course: 9 holes between sea and Beigua
The course stands on the Arenzano plateau, inside the Pineta, with views of both the Ligurian Gulf and the Monte Beigua massif; the club notes that playing conditions are favourable all year round. The design is by the English architect Don Harradine, who began designing courses in Switzerland in 1929 and specialised in restricted sites. The 9 holes, par 36, are played over flat ground, in a reasonable time.
The club describes the holes one by one. The 1st, a par 4, is a dogleg left with a small green guarded by two side bunkers. The 2nd, a par 5, is the longest, and long hitters can reach the green in two; the 3rd, a par 4, is an uphill dogleg left with a two-tier green and four bunkers. The 4th is a short par 3, affected by the wind. The 5th, a par 4, bends slightly uphill to the right and can bring the lake into play; the 6th, a short par 3, has a two-tier green.
The 7th, a short par 5 with a dogleg left, has out of bounds and a small, protected green. The 8th, a par 4, is the hardest: a dogleg left and a raised two-tier green. The 9th closes the round, a straight par 4 with a narrow landing area and bunkers on three sides. The website does not publish the length of the course.

The club: history, pool and driving range
The club was founded in 1959, promoted by the Cemadis company, which had developed much of the residential area of the Pineta di Arenzano. At the end of the 1960s it was affiliated to the Italian Golf Federation and later opened the course to players from other clubs.
The clubhouse offers a bar and restaurant with a zero-mile menu, bag storage, lockers and a panoramic terrace over the 9th hole; there is also a private pool. The driving range is in the sports area at via della Colletta 66, about a kilometre from the clubhouse, in the pinewood: it has 8 covered bays and one outdoors and shares its grounds with tennis and padel courts, a bar and a car park. It is run by PGA professional Federico Buzzi, who can be booked on 328 3799810.
The tournament calendar can be consulted on the Gesgolf portal, where the course's EGA table is also published. The club also offers promotions for beginners and annual memberships.
