The signature hole at Golf Brianza measures just 125 metres: you hit downhill to a green on an island. Around it lies a par 72 course designed by Marco Croze in an amphitheatre of hills and four lakes, from which Monte Rosa can be seen on clear days.

The Golf Brianza course: 18 holes among hills and lakes
The course occupies an undulating natural amphitheatre, half on hillside and half on flat ground, and the four lakes on the layout come right on the most difficult holes. In the background, according to the club, you can see the Resegone and the Grigna and, in clear skies, Monte Rosa. The men's tees add up to 5,775 metres for a par 72: not a long course, but a technical one, alternating long and short holes where mistakes are punished.
The 5th is the club's postcard, a downhill par 3 to an island green guarded by two bunkers. The 13th is the longest hole and number one on the stroke index: 511 metres, a dogleg left with a lake inside the bend and an uphill second half to a very undulating green. Right after, the 14th demands a narrow tee shot between lake and woods and ends on a three-tiered green.
The design is by Marco Croze, who drew it up in the late 1980s. The later extension was entrusted to Baldovino Dassù, the restyling to Giulio Cavalsani and then to Franco Piras. In 2005 all the bunkers were rebuilt and the drainage network was subsequently extended: the club maintains that the course now becomes playable again quickly even after thunderstorms.

The club: club house, history and facilities
Golf Brianza opened in September 1994 with nine holes and a temporary base in a prefabricated wooden building. The affairs of the first owners slowed the work: the 18 holes were completed in the autumn of 1997 and in the spring of 1998 the club passed to VI.CO., which restored the farmhouse that is now home to the club house, inaugurated in January 2001.
Inside are the restaurant La Cascina, with a terrace overlooking the course and open every day except Tuesday, the pro shop, changing rooms with a sauna and a meeting room on the first floor. The practice range has 21 bays, seven of them covered, and a short-game area with putting green, pitching green and bunker. Those who want to start out will find a four-month package with eight hours of individual lessons and full membership. For an overnight stay on site there is the VI.CO. Residence, twelve apartments overlooking the course.
Curiosities about Golf Brianza Country Club
- A wooden prefabricated building as the first base. In 1994 the first nine holes had a small prefabricated structure as their club house, replaced seven years later by the restored farmhouse.
- The shortest hole is the most photographed. The 5th measures 125 metres from the men's tees and is the easiest on the stroke index, but the green sits on an island.
- Three levels on one green. At the 14th the raised, steeply sloping green has three different tiers, with the lake on the right.
- The Alps at the end of the fairway. Among the views from the course the club lists the Resegone, the Grigna and, on clear days, Monte Rosa.
