Vigilerhof

The Vigilerhof is a partner hotel of Golfclub St. Vigil Seis, which the hotel places 10 minutes away on foot and one minute by car. Guests get a 20% discount on green fees and guaranteed tee times; reception takes care of booking tee times. Guests also receive the Golf in South Tyrol Card free of charge, giving 20% off green fees at 8 of the 9 courses in South Tyrol.

The course has 18 holes, par 69, and lies at 850 metres over around 55 hectares, open from spring to autumn: the 2026 season runs from 9 April to 25 October. It was designed by landscape architect Bernd Hofmann and professional Wolfgang Jersombeck. The club points to hole 4, where a stream splits the fairway, and hole 15, a par 3 that it says has the greatest height difference in Europe. There is a two-tier driving range with 32 covered bays and the R19 restaurant.

In high season the hotel also offers a taster course for up to four people every Thursday from 3 to 5 pm, and a golf licence package with pro Lindsey Irvine.

In 1970 Karl Marmsoler, a butcher by trade, built the Vigilerhof while Agnes ran the kitchen. Since 1999 it has been managed by their son Klaus, a chef, and his wife Ulrike; their children Florian and Sophia now work at the hotel too. The outdoor pool arrived in 2009, a pool renovation with two new rooms and the Spa Suite in 2024, and three more rooms in 2025.

Rooms use Swiss stone pine and spruce from local forests. Suites have an infrared cabin or a whirlpool on the balcony: the Luxury Spa Suite adds a private sauna and a balcony jacuzzi. The address is Frazione San Vigilio 29; the bus stop is outside the hotel and the Alpe di Siusi cable car is about 1.5 km away, with a shuttle every 30 minutes.

The heated outdoor pool is open all year and runs from 28 °C in summer to 33 °C in winter, with views of the Schlern. For families there is an outdoor stone pine sauna, in use in winter only.

The adults-only area, for guests 16 and over, has a Finnish sauna, herbal bio sauna, panoramic sauna with infusions, steam bath, cold plunge, ice fountain, experience shower and a 36 °C relaxation pool with hydromassage. From May 2026 the garden also has a hot tub. The relaxation rooms have waterbeds and infrared loungers.

Every evening the hotel serves a five-course menu with a choice of dishes, combining South Tyrolean specialities with Mediterranean influences, using seasonal asparagus, apples, chestnuts and berries. Breakfast is a buffet until 10:30; brunch is available by reservation, and the cellar holds a selection of wines. For children there is a dedicated menu, a playroom, a playground and an enclosure with goats, sheep, mini pigs and quails, plus horses in winter.

Golf is played from April to October; in winter the Alpe di Siusi cable car is 1.5 km away, with 60 km of slopes, 175 including Val Gardena. By car leave the A22 at Chiusa or Bolzano Nord; from Bolzano station, bus 170 stops at «Vigilerhof». For those flying in, the hotel suggests a taxi from Bolzano or a rental car from Milan and Venice.

• A hotel on the seabed. The hotel notes that where the Dolomites rise today there was once a coral reef.
• Top-level sustainability. It holds the South Tyrol Sustainability Label at Level 3 and GSTC certification.
• A hole to look up at. On hole 15 at St. Vigil Seis, the club says, you play the par 3 with the greatest height difference in Europe.
• One of the cleanest lakes. The Völser Weiher, a 30-minute walk away, is according to the hotel regularly voted one of Italy's cleanest lakes.
