Golf at Bogogno: Conte and Bonora, 36 holes in Piedmont
The resort has two championship courses, both par 72, created by Robert Von Hagge with Mike Smelek and Rick Baril. The project began in 1990, construction started in 1994 and the opening was in 1997. In 1998 Il Mondo del Golf named it best new course in Italy.
The Conte recalls a links course: wide open spaces, flat stretches, sizeable lakes and wild roughs on the edges, with Monte Rosa as a backdrop. It measures 6,485 m from the professional tees. Since 2006 it has hosted the European Tour Qualifying School, first stage (now the DP World Tour), the only Italian venue; in 2017 it also hosted the Vagliano Trophy. The professional record is 64, set in 2005 by South Africa's Anton Haig; among amateurs Alessandro Nardini shot 63 in 2021.
The Bonora (6,488 m) is a parkland layout on hilly ground, with the streams and woods typical of the Ticino Park. Francesco Molinari shot 66 there as an amateur in 2002; the professional record is 69 (Marcello Santi, 2000).
For practice there is a driving range on two areas with unlimited balls (25 grass tees per area, 12 mat tees and 8 covered), a 900 m² short-game area and a 36-hole putting green of 1,200 m². Green fees are for 18 holes; for hotel guests they run from €60 to €95 on weekdays depending on the season. The resort rents golf carts (60 Club Cars), trolleys and Callaway sets.
