The course at Golf del Ducato: 18 holes on the land of Marie Louise
The course at Sala Baganza is an 18-hole par 72 of 6,103 metres, opened in 1985 to a design by Marco Croze and later partly modified by Luigi Rota Caremoli. The terrain is gently rolling, with Bermuda grass.
The club describes it as a layout that is “gentle, with top-level greens” and points out that it unfolds over the grounds of a historic residence of Marie Louise of Austria, wife of Napoleon Bonaparte. The Italian Professional Championship was played here from 2021 to 2023 and the Master Championship in 2024.
Playing at Golf del Ducato as a guest
Guests are welcome every day, but booking and a handicap certificate are required, with a maximum limit of 54. Soft spikes are compulsory. The club is closed on Mondays, except public holidays.
According to the 2026 price list, the green fee for 18 holes is €90 on weekdays and €110 on public holidays; for Federgolf cardholders €80 and €100. Members of Emilia Golf Experience receive a discount of at least 20% in high season and 15-20% in low season (December-March, July-August). The website does not publish rates for golf carts, trolleys and club hire: it is best to ask at the secretary's office.
The club: clubhouse, practice area and restaurant
The restaurant is in the hunting lodge of Empress Marie Louise of Austria: you dine on the panoramic veranda or in two intimate small rooms. The cooking follows Parma tradition, with filled pasta, roasts, boiled meats and cured meats.
For practice there is a driving range with 40 bays and a putting green; the Emilia Golf Experience group also cites Toptracer Range technology among its facilities. A pro shop and a golf cart service complete the club.
