The Golf Club Valdichiana course: nine holes at Bettolle
The club is in the Esse Secco area, at Bettolle, in the municipality of Sinalunga, and presents itself as a nine-hole course in a rural setting of typical Tuscan beauty. The website does not publish the architect, the opening year or the length: the club describes itself as “brand new”.
The course page lists the par and stroke index of the nine holes. There are four par 3s (the 1st, 6th, 8th and 9th), three par 4s (3, 4 and 5) and two par 5s (the 2nd and 7th), for a par of 34 for the round. The hardest is the 7th, a par 5 with stroke index 1/2; next come the 2nd, a par 5 with stroke index 3/4, and the 3rd, a par 4 with 5/6. The easiest is the 5th, a par 4 with stroke index 17/18. Each hole has two stroke indexes, one for each round, because the nine holes are repeated to make 18.

The club: academy, osteria and footgolf
The golf academy is based at the practice range, with federation coaches and the pro Alessio Mastriforti, and there is a Juniors Golf Club for younger players. The club hosts competitions and rankings, including those of the WAGC Tour and the Score d'Oro.
The club has a restaurant, the Osteria del Golf, which offers a Tuscan menu “skilfully reinterpreted”, with ever-changing dishes and short-supply-chain produce. The same course also hosts footgolf, played over 9 or 18 holes with rules largely the same as those of golf.
