The Golf Pordenone course at Castel d'Aviano: 18 holes at Villa Policreti
The course occupies the historic park of Villa Policreti, at Castel d'Aviano, on the Friulian plain where the first foothills of the Pre-Alps begin. There are 18 holes, par 72, over 5,980 metres: the club's own page on the course speaks of roughly six thousand.
The terrain alternates hills, small woods and three bodies of water, with changes in elevation between tee and green. According to the club, the hazards, natural and artificial, are placed strategically: they trouble anyone who relies only on length off the tee, but leave those who accept a bogey and prefer to enjoy the scenery free to play in peace.
The local rules help explain a few quirks. The tool-shed wall to the left of the 17th green marks the boundary of the course, and the same wall defines it behind the 15th green; to the left of the 18th green the red stakes have been removed, so the club recommends playing a provisional ball if you end up on that side.
Playing Golf Pordenone as a guest
The club's website does not publish a green fee list for guests: prices, handicap requirements and tee time availability should be requested from the secretary's office (+39 0434 652305, [email protected]) or booked through the dedicated page. The 2026 membership fees are online, however: 2,000 euros plus FIG card for a full member, 1,600 for those living outside the province, 600 for under-24s, and 100 euros for under-18s with a handicap.
One particularity: dogs are allowed on the course, but only outside competitions, always on a lead, muzzled if large, and with an obligation to pick up after them, even in areas the players do not visit.
The club: clubhouse, school and competitions
The recently renovated Clubhouse restaurant is open to all and serves dishes from the local tradition, with picture windows and terraces over the course. From Tuesday to Thursday it is open from 9:30 am to 8 pm, from Friday to Sunday until 10 pm, and it is closed on Mondays; the kitchen serves lunch from 12:30 to 3:30 pm and, at weekends and on public holidays, dinner by reservation.
The Golf Academy offers a basic group package of eight lessons of 60 minutes with two months of practice range included, individual options, a course qualification programme and a parent and child programme; for young players there is the Junior Training Academy. The competition calendar includes club and circuit events: in autumn 2026 the President's Cup (4 October) and the Royal Air Maroc Trophy (24 October).
