Golf in Basilicata
1 course
Basilicata's golf comes down to a single name and a story worth telling: the Metaponto Golf Club in Bernalda was the region's first golf course, built by a farmer, Angelo Zella, who turned an 80-hectare farm into a course.
Today it is a par-72, 18-hole course running through the citrus groves of the Ionian coast, in open countryside far from the well-trodden circuits. An unusual stop for anyone who wants to add the deep South to their collection of fairways.
