Villaverde Hotel & Resort

The resort stands on Golf Club Udine, an 18-hole course at Fagagna, in the morainic hills between San Daniele and Udine, which Villaverde runs as part of its complex. The club was founded in 1970 and counts more than 7,000 trees along the course; in the morning and evening, according to the resort, storks are regularly seen.

The renovated Club House has a bar and restaurant with large windows and a panoramic terrace over the course; there is a Golf Academy with lessons and fitting, a driving range and practice areas.

The packages are Golf & Wellness and Golf & Gourmet: two nights in a Superior room with course view include two 18-hole green fees, breakfasts, a dinner at the resort, a San Daniele ham tasting, one spa entry and the gym. Extra green fees and spa entries are available at guest rates. The three-night version adds a breakfast and a 25-minute localised massage, the six-night one includes four green fees, three spa entries and a massage. The offer is subject to availability and valid only in certain periods.

Villaverde is rated four-star superior and offers Superior rooms and The Lodge Villaverde: four residences with eight apartments overlooking the hole 9 green. Studios measure 41 m² and sleep two, Deluxe two-bedrooms 98 m² and six guests, while the duplex sleeps eight. Deluxe units have full kitchens, studios kitchenettes; pets are allowed for a supplement.

For short stays in San Daniele del Friuli the resort also lists Hotel San Daniele, near the main square. The Mymed medical centre offers specialist medicine, and on site there are bike rentals and a helicopter landing pad, plus an airfield at Rivoli di Osoppo, 15 km away.

Villaverde Wellness & Spa covers about 1,000 m² and includes a hydrotherapy circuit, face and body treatments, massages and rituals. Reception opens 11 am to 7 pm. Separately there is a Technogym gym open to guests.

The Privilegium restaurant and the Club House restaurant complete the offer: from the Club House bar, through its large windows, you see the course, the Alps and the trees.

The address is Via delle Acacie 1, in Fagagna. According to the resort, Trieste airport is 50 km (40 minutes) away, Treviso 115 km (120 minutes) and Venice 133 km (125 minutes); Udine station is 18 km (20 minutes). Paid transfers are available from airports and stations.
