Grand Hotel Vesuvio has no golf course and offers no golf services, so golfers must make their own arrangements.
The local reference is Circolo Golf Napoli, hosted inside Carney Park Golf Course, in the extinct Campiglione crater in the Phlegraean Fields. According to the club the site lies about 23 km west of Naples. The course has 9 holes with double tee boxes, par 70 and 5,488 metres, at 10 metres above sea level. It was designed by Robert Carney and partly redesigned by Richard Knapp and Eugenio Strazzullo.
The club was founded in 1982, but its story starts in May 1978, when Afsouth command allowed three Italian generals into Carney Park. The course is a US Navy facility and access is granted only to US military personnel and members of Golf Napoli.
