The Golf Pragelato course: nine mountain holes at 1,600 metres

Golf Pragelato is a looped nine-hole course, par 36 (72 over two rounds) and 2,876 metres, carved out of the plain at the start of the Val Troncea, on the line of the Olympic cross-country track. It lies between 1,550 and 1,590 metres, but the club stresses that the total elevation change is only 40 metres: a mountain course without extreme slopes, within reach of an averagely fit player.

Out of play, the rough of pasture and grasses has been left, which according to the club recalls the dune courses of golf's origins; the trees are mainly larches, birches, aspens and willows. The work was funded by the Piedmont Region.

The holes bear the names of species of the Val Troncea Site of Community Importance. Number 2, La Salamandra, is a 148-metre par 3 to be played over the Chisone; number 3, Il Gallo Forcello, is the hole with the most elevation change, with the green at 1,590 metres; number 5, Il Pino Uncinato, is a par 5 of about 510 metres alongside the cross-country track, with the green in an amphitheatre of larches ringed by a dry-stone wall. Alternatively, 5b, Lo Stambecco, a 140-metre downhill par 3, lets you vary the round. Number 9, Il Narciso, a 160-metre par 3, leads back to the clubhouse with two lines of play dictated by the larches.
