The Golf Il Torrazzo course: nine holes among hornbeams, lindens and maples
The layout is a nine-hole, par-32 course on mostly flat ground, enlivened by “carefully considered ground movements”. Water comes into play with water hazards and carefully placed bunkers, while the course is surrounded by mature trees such as hornbeams, lindens and maples.
The greens are small and gently contoured: according to the club, they test the short game even of experienced players. The course rating is 64.0 with a slope of 103 from the men’s yellow tees, and 64.4 with a slope of 104 from the women’s red tees. The club describes it as a course that challenges advanced players yet remains enjoyable for beginners.
Playing at Golf Il Torrazzo
The club does not publish green fees, handicap requirements or closing days on its website: to find out whether and when guests can play, it is best to call the secretary’s office on 0372 471563 or write to [email protected]. The calendar of competitions, with Stableford and interclub formats, is on the website.
For beginners there is the GOLFPOP project: the 20-euro card includes a lesson with a PGAI instructor, the FIG federation membership card and insurance. For members, the “Libera Circolazione” programme offers five free green fees at each of the 15 participating clubs.
The club: history, school and restaurant
Il Torrazzo grew out of an idea by the entrepreneur Lodovico Bottini: after work began in 1990 on 12 hectares of farmland, the course opened in the spring of 1992. It is an amateur sports association; the president for the 2026-2028 term is Alberto Auricchio.
For practice there are a floodlit practice range, a putting green, a pitching green and practice bunkers. The golf school has a PGA instructor, the clubhouse houses a restaurant open to the public, and the premises also include the PadelX padel courts.
