Grand Hotel Miramare

Grand Hotel Miramare has no golf course and golf is not among the hotel's services. The area does have a historic club, the Circolo Golf e Tennis Rapallo, on via Mameli at Rapallo.

The course has 18 holes over about 45 hectares. It was designed in 1929 and opened two years later, in 1931: the first nine holes date from the founding, the other nine were added in the late 1960s. The route is crossed by the Boate stream, in green space near Rapallo's old town.

The club is open all year and welcomes visitors, with tee times bookable online. It also has five floodlit clay tennis courts, a golf school, a restaurant and a pro shop.

The Miramare opened in 1903 and since 1945 has been run by the Fustinoni family, who present it as a guardian of the Riviera's heritage and culture. It belongs to The Leading Hotels of the World.

The 71 rooms and suites range from 20-23 m² Superior rooms with garden views to the 45 m² Sea View Junior Suite, up to the Signature Suites, each named after the area: Marconi, Riviera, Portofino, Levante, Santa Margherita at 53 m² and Miramare at 64 m². The largest is the 74 m² Two-Bedroom Suite Paraggi for 4-6 guests, with sea views.

The hotel also tells the story of Ligurian workshops in its «Maestros of the Riviera» project, profiling craftspeople such as Romanengo, Mussini and Fratelli Levaggi.

The seawater pool is in 1970s style, among oleanders and pines, open 9 am to 7 pm from mid-April to mid-October. Shade comes from the Berceau pergola.

In front of the hotel lies Bagni Miramare, which the hotel calls the largest private beach in Santa Margherita Ligure: loungers, umbrellas and towels are free for guests, allocated daily on a first-come basis.

The e'SPA'ce spa is open daily 9.30 am to 7.30 pm, to non-guests too, with face and body treatments. The gym, open 7.30 am to 7.30 pm, has Xenios, Concept2 and Air Runner machines and offers personal training and Travel Recovery Sessions with Pilates, swimming, boxing and trekking.

Vistamare, in an Art Nouveau room with a sea-view terrace, is led by chef Claudio Fortuna and serves Italian and international cuisine with seasonal regional ingredients. The Pool Restaurant & Bar offers summer lunches and barbecue, and Bar Le Colonne is devoted to the ritual of the aperitif with views over the Tigullio Gulf.

The Barracuda Beach Restaurant on the sand serves Mediterranean fish and pasta and is inspired, the hotel says, by the beaches of Salento. The site also carries Chef Claudio's house recipe for pesto alla genovese.

The address is Via Milite Ignoto 30. According to the hotel, Genoa airport is 42 km away, Pisa airport about 140 km and the motorway toll station 6 km. Santa Margherita Ligure station is 1 km away. From Genoa it is 32 km on the A12, Rapallo exit, or a 13 km panoramic drive on the Aurelia road from Recco. In 2026 the season opens on 1 April.

• Suites named after places. The Signature Suites carry the names Marconi, Riviera, Portofino, Levante, Santa Margherita and Miramare.

• An art platform. «miramART» is the experience platform created by the hotel.
